Where did the inspiration come from?
I wanted to make a book about Suzette and her name called for something about crêpes because they remind me of my childhood in France.
Why did you decide to illustrate your books with photos rather than drawings?
I thought it would be a good idea to match the handmade feel and knitted texture of the dolls.
How long did the whole process take?
Around 6 months between creating the sets and taking the photography.
Did you use real crêpes on the set?
haha... no, they are made out of Elmer's white glue.
What is your favorite page in the book?
The one where she is seen from inside the fridge. What's yours?
